Tax returns
As a self-employed person, you do not pay tax on your income immediately. This does not always mean that you actually have to pay tax. In fact, you get tax credits on your tax, which means you do not have to pay tax on a certain amount. You may be able to make use of certain schemes such as: self-employment deduction, start-up deduction, SME profit exemption and investment deduction.

Besides the income tax/premium national insurance (IB/PVV), as a ZZP'er you also have to pay income-related contribution for the Healthcare Insurance Act. This contribution is calculated automatically after completing the tax return. You will also receive a separate assessment for this contribution.
As discussed above, there are certain discounts for the income tax/premium national insurance (IB/PVV), these do not apply to the income-related contribution for the Healthcare Insurance Act (ZvW). As a result, you may not have to pay income tax/national insurance contributions (IB/PVV), for example, but you do have to pay income-related contributions for the Healthcare Insurance Act (ZvW).
